Why Therapy?

Through psychotherapy, I help people discover and remember who they really are and help them decide who and how they want to be.

Any life is a mixture of the authentic and the inauthentic, of things that are working really well and things that are working not so well.   Most people who arrive at the decision to seek therapy usually end up here because they want to address the aspects of their life that are causing them pain and learn coping skills to deal with them: old ideas or relationships or patterns of behavior that are causing more problems than they solve.  I have experience and training to address: ADHD, Addiction (both for people who struggle with addiction and for their loved ones), Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Borderline Personality Disorder, Career Counseling, Chronic Illness, Codependency, Coping Skills, Depression, Divorce, Dual Diagnosis, Family Conflict, Grief, Infertility, Life Transitions, Marital Issues, Parenting, Pregnancy/Postpartum Issues, Relationship Issues, Religious Trauma, School Issues, Self-Esteem, Self-Harming, Sexual Abuse, Spiritual Issues, Stress, Substance Abuse, Trauma and Women’s Issues.

Many people also come to therapy to address mental health issues.  I have experience and training to work with those experiencing Dissociative Disorders, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders and Psychosis.   Mental health is just as important as physical health, and I believe people deserve a psychotherapist they trust to address issues of mental health issues and personal growth just like they deserve a trusted primary care physician or a dentist.
